Strategy Automation

Your Strategy, Running 24/7 Without You in the Loop

We turn documented trading rules into a production-ready bot that executes on live data with no manual input.

What Strategy Automation Actually Means

Strategy automation is the process of encoding your trading logic — the exact conditions under which you buy, sell, scale in, or close — into software that evaluates those conditions continuously and acts without waiting for you. It is not a black-box algorithm that invents its own signals; it is a precise translation of your existing edge into code. At Sterling Atelier, the process begins with a structured intake session where you walk us through your rules in plain language. We then produce a written specification for your review before a single line of code is written. This means you validate the logic before it ever touches a live market.

How the Build Process Works, Step by Step

After the specification is signed off, our engineers build the bot in Python or MQL5 depending on your broker environment. We run it against paper-trading data for a minimum of ten trading days, producing a fill log you can compare against your own manual records. Once results are consistent, we deploy to your chosen VPS or cloud instance and hand you full ownership of the source code. You're not locked into us for maintenance — though we offer ongoing support plans for traders who want us to monitor and adapt the bot as market conditions evolve.

What You Receive When the Build Is Complete

A finished automation is more than executable code — it's a documented, auditable system.

Full source code ownership

The bot code is yours. No licence fees, no vendor lock-in. You can modify, audit, or hand it to another developer at any time. We deliver it with inline comments explaining each logical block.

Written strategy specification

Before coding starts, you approve a plain-English document mapping every rule to its implementation. This spec doubles as documentation for future modifications and is stored alongside your source files.

Ten-day paper-trade validation

Every bot runs in simulation for at least ten live-market trading days before deployment. You receive a fill log, a comparison against your expected signals, and a green-light sign-off from our QA process.

What Strategy Automation Does Not Cover

We automate strategies that have clearly defined, rules-based logic. If your approach relies on discretionary judgment — reading candle psychology, interpreting news tone, or applying subjective filters you can't articulate as explicit conditions — automation will not faithfully replicate it. We'll tell you this at intake rather than after the build. Automation also does not improve an unprofitable strategy: if the logic loses money manually, the bot will execute those losses faster. We recommend a minimum of six months of manual trading history before commissioning an automation.
